State of Grace is an homage to the power of recollection, a place drawn from memory and given a proper frame. Like that warm neighborhood meeting place from when we grew up.
For me, South Texas cooking is all about live fire, great meat, and fresh Gulf seafood. Simple as that. And a lot of what I love to cook comes from memories — growing up, I spent a lot of time eating out in Houston with my parents and grandparents, and that sticks with me. I love restaurants that nail the classics.
State of Grace is my homage to those moments, a place where life slows down, and we can take a step back to enjoy good food and good company, just like that warm neighborhood spot we all remember. Over the years, State of Grace has created its own set of classics, staples that we’ve grown to love, and we’re still focusing on the good stuff while always finding new inspiration. What’s inspiring us right now is “less is more” — source the absolute best ingredients and cook them right. We can’t thank you enough for dining with us over the last decade, and we’re excited to share what we’ve been working on. Come on in, pull up a chair, and let’s make some memories together.
